The Real Mad Men of Chicago
My tutor, a rhetorician, knows a lot about the "mad men" outta Chicago, meaning advertisers -- some were women (more and more as time goes on).

I grew up around spin doctors (more slang), many of the Italian, as I was living in Italy.
Advertising was big business in Rome, as is/was glamor more generally. TV commercials on RAI TV were gathered into a show of their own, one of the popular, called Carosello.
